Tobacco Companies are financing now for tobacco products advertisement at
Point-of-Sale (POS), this case is found in Jakigonj Upazilla under Sylhet
district. This fact is revealed by one of our ATMA members Al Mamun published
on Daily Sobuj Sylhet on 3 January 2014. According to the report,
cigarettes
sellers are advertising through decorating their stalls (Point-of-Sale) using
several empty cigarettes packs, and for doing that they got Tk. 600 per month
from Tobacco Company. Though all sorts of advertisement of tobacco products is
banned by the amended tobacco control law 2013 which is effective from 2 May
2013.
